Trip To Zurich Switzerland
The international airport in Zuruch is nice clean and lokks like really swiss airport. It is more small then large.
Sometimes you need to take small train withour driver(fully automatic) to get to the main building from the gate.
The best way to the centre from the airport in Zurich is to take a train.
The ticket you can get in mashine by the entrace or there is office of the swiss rails and it could be purchase there as well.
(cash or credit cards are accepted as well)
The price of the ticket is 11 swiss franks return. Taxi is not faster as there is usually trafic on the
way and cost around 50 Swiss franks.
The fast train will get you directly to the centre to the Main Train Station in Zurich.
It is quite nice station in old building with so many shops underground. The next door is huge house of the Zurich museum.
and slowly it became one of the main shopping areas (not expensive) for the local as well as for travellers.
And people are used to go there if they need anything
and they do not like spend so much.
When you leave the station door you are directly in the centre of the city on the Bahnhofstrasse.
The Bahnhofstrasse leading from the train station (where is also the city museum just next door) to the Parade Platz
and furder to the Zurich lake.
Bahnhofstrasse is considered like one of the most luxury street in the world - in meaning of the cost of course.
There are about one hundred of Bahnhofstrasse in Europe. But just one of them has become world famous
the Bahnhofstrasse of Zurich. This year the street is 140 years old. Finance and business, elegance and exclusiveness,
quality and variety still belong to its most excellent characteristics. Who would come to Zurich without a visit at the Bahnhofstrasse?
Zurich lies near to the Bahnhofstrasse!
Zurich lake - it is beautiful very clear you can almost drink the water, larger that you do not see the ends.
Around the lake are garden restaurants, atractions and with time it is the place which people choosing for living.
And currently you can see new houses around the lake or constructions.
Zurich is surrounded by hils like many other Swiss towns. It giving feeling of raletive safety.
The most famous of those hills (mountains) is Uetliberg. The highest around.
The ?tliberg (873 m,) is a mountain in the Swiss plateau, part of the Albis chain.
The ?tliberg offers a panoramic view of the entire city of Zrich and the Lake of Zrich.
Many Zurichians claiming the hill in weekends,
or going there by bycicles which in not easier. The most common way it to take small "mountain" train.
We go there by bycicles and it is very interesting to see how you react in crisis situation in moments
you are sure you can not continue in the middle of the mountain and you have to try again and again,
then finaly you get on the top and you are happy. But the best of best is to go down fromthe Uetliberg. It amazing! It is life satisfaction. Try that.
In the centre of Zurich is easy and fast and in same time slow life. One older side with its own character called Niederdorf
has the night life.
The other side where is the Banhof strasse, Parade Platz, Gotthard strasse and all the fanous swiss banks are more official.
Both sides are very safe also in really late night.
There is in Zurich one lets say not so nice street which "they" tolerate and it is Lang strasse.
There are located "strange" shops, erotic shops, maybe also the ;ladies standing in the corners when the sun gone, who knows..
There are old trams in Zurich but not for the reason there is not enough funds to buy new ones but for some kind of
nostalgia. People in Zirich like them and they do not wish to have new modern trams.
