VERNAYAZ - Switzerland

Trip to Vernayaz 2001




In autumn 2001 my friend Ludovic from France I have met in Dublin one year ago, invited me to come to Vernayaz in Switzerland, district of Sion, where he was staying that summer working nearby in some vegetable factory. Ludovic picked me up in Geneva where I came by bus from Prague. Then we went more than one hour to get to lovely village la Vernayaz. When we stoped in front of our hotel, I ve got out of the car watching high mountains of Alps surrounding that place form all sidesCome in, said Ludovic, cause it was windy and rainy.
Wait a moment, I said watching that amazing and unforgetable view almost in extaze

As Ludovic was working every day, I decided to hike in the mountains alone, cause I love hiking very much and didn t want to stay all the time at the hotel alone. First I had to check if they are many bears and other wild animals in the mountains. My friend was laughing to me which I didnt understand because it seemed to me its quite important information. Anyway finally I was explained they are no bears (until now I think there are some, but fortunately I did not meet any) and one day morning I packed some food)piece of very nice swiss bread, perfect swiss cheese, apple, bottle of water, knife and started my first trip in Alps
. Ive just crossed the highway, then the bridge between two rocks and then I climbed straight up to the hill

In half an hour of quite fast climbing Ive got to the topt here was a beautiful view from here all around
As it was lovely and sunny day, som I took my boots of and lied and relaxed in grass for an hour.Then I was going on. However I had no map with me, it was no problem cause the tourist paths were signed very well.
I was doing such trips every day, sometimes by train and by foot back, and that was really beautiful time I have spent there.
