VALAIS - Switzerland

Trip to Valais 2002

In August 2002 I went to see my friend from France, who was working in fruit factory in Fully Town, Switzerland, district Valais. He stayed in a shared small romantic old house in the middle of wine-yards in a small village nearby Fully. That place was surrounded by high mountains with grap. I couldnt believe that the grapes can grow in such high hills and my friend explained me that Valais is located in South of Switzerland where the weather influenced by Alpss fean and in summer there is so hot like in South France and thats why that clima is very favourable for growing fruits, even grapes on the hills.

In the middle of the village we have stayed (I cant rmember the name of that small historical lovely village) there were interesting old houses with a church on the hill in the middle of the square.

Every day I was walking arround and some times for longer trips. But some times it was almost impossible because in August there was so hot. In those days I went for a walk later afternoon when the weather was acceptable for walking. Sometimes I just climb a hill nearby,smoking, drinking water and watching the Alps and the grape fields arround. My friend was usually coming home later, because he had to taste wine from his bosss fields, he told to me. The wine was probably very good cause he was coming back late almost every day!
No, that was just a joke. I loved that place very much and I really enjoyed 2 weeks there.
