Trip to Roma 2004
Roma - I have one not ordinery experience with Roma. I have been in Roma 3 hours and we manage
(me and my friend jaromir) to get to the centre of Roma and back to catch our flight in time.
We had 3 hours time (clear time) to visit the city. So, once we landed to Roma we were trying to find out what is the best way to the city centre.
We found at the Roma Airport informations desk and asked beautiful young Italian lady what is the fastest way to the centre we noticed
that some stranger in suite looking to us and keeping closer.
After steping away from him to our Italian lady what a surprice was when she turn to him with a question ....
Even we do not speaking Italian we understand that she asked him to takes us to the centre,
The suddenly he start to talk to us - "when you like to go to centre ? How long you like to be there? You have too short time to make it! Taxi will cost you so much!"
and so and so....
we asked how much it will be to the centre and after 2 hours back ?
he answered 100 EUR - uf, so much ? We expected 50 or 60 .
Anyway I decited to cover this expence by myself to be able to say I WAS IN ROMA.
On the way between the airport and the centre you go on highway and around VATICAN walls you reach the centre.
And I was, we get off the car near the Colloseum and it was agreed thet after 90 minutes we meet the driver at the maria roma square which we pinted on the map."
And it was amasing 90 minutes. We saw so many beautiful buildingshouses, monuments, and streets squares and so many beautiful girls in Roma.
I thing that also shops are different in Roma. Once we got to our final point in Roma to our square we had few min left so we went for drink.
Whisky and cola cost 9 EUR. NOT cheap!
My feeling from Roma ? Very nice and interesting city with a kind of secret. Go and find out.

ABOUT ROMA
Roma (also Rome) is the capital of Italy and of its latium region.
It is located on the Tiber river and Aniene river, near the Mediterranean Sea.
There is The Vatican City in the middle of Roma, a sovereign enclave within Rome,
is the seat of the Roman Catholic Church and the home of the Pope.
Rome is the largest city and comune in Italia; the city of Roma is one of the largest in Europe with an area of 1290 square kilometers.
Within the city limits, the population is 2,823,807 (in year 2004); almost 4 million live in the general area of Rome as represented by the province of Rome.
HISTORY OF ROMA
The history of Roma extends nearly 2,800 years, during which time it has been the seat of ancient Rome (the Roman Kingdom, Roman Republic, Roman Empire),
and later the Papal States, Kingdom of Italy and Italian Republic
The civilization of ancient Roma (Rome) originated in the 8th or 9th century BC, when northern tribes migrated to the Italian peninsula to settle around the River Tiber
For several hundred years, Roma was the most important city in the Western world, as the capital of the expansive Roman Empire.
With the rise of Christianity, Roma became the center of the Roman Catholic Church and the home of the Popes (Vatican).
The slow decline of the Roman Empire heralded the beginning of the Middle Ages, but the city regained prominence as the political capital of Europe
for several hundred years leading up to the Renaissance. Rome remains influential today,
as the capital of Italy and a major world city.
VATICAN
Vatican City formally State of the Vatican City, or Vatican City State (Italian: Stato della Citt?el Vaticano, Latin: Status Civitatis Vaticanae)
is an ecclesiastical sovereign landlocked enclave surrounded by Rome, Italy. The modern-day home of the popes, it is the smallest independent nation state in the world
in terms of area and population (that is if the Knights Hospitaller is not counted as a country). It is administered by the Holy See,
the ecclesiastical seat of the Roman Catholic Church and its Eastern Rites.
